My father and grandfather were both engineers. I grew up sitting at drafting tables drawing. I’m not the engineer type however and I naturally fell onto the architecture side of design. I had fond memories of all the different schools I attended growing up, knowing that someday I would be designing them for others to enjoy
I attended Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas where I studied graphic design and freehand drawing. I earned the ability to sit for the Architectural Registration Examination via the State of Colorado Highly Experienced program. I have passed all sections of the examination except for Site Design and Structural. I am long time member of the AIA and NCARB.
I have served in many roles in the architecture profession. Firstly as a draftsman, and later in my career as an architectural designer, project captain and project manager. I have participated in many prestigious projects over the years, several of which have won design awards. The Dean B. Ellis Library expansion at Arkansas State University is one that I am particularly fond of. I have also designed several projects for the military around the world. One of my projects (Arkansas Children’s Hospital Lobby) won a national award for ceiling design which was featured in a national publication.
